life's a beach!

vacation is probably one of the most splendid things ever invented (well, besides paid vacation, which i know nothing of)... i was so privlidged to get the chance to take a lovely, and much-needed vacation w\ my darling Jess to her grandmas "kwando" in Panama City. Yeah, so they call it the redneck riviera, and so we were the oldest people there- but we had a blast the 4 of us- me, jess, her cousin shae & her friend stephanie. no worries, except for making sure we didn't burn- and i'm the only one who succeeded in that category.

we spent our mornings eating cereal, watching regis & kelly, slathering on the sunscreen & then hitting the beach where we soaked in the sun, glorious sun for a while before heading inside for lunch and back out to the beach. just the peacefulness of lying in a beach chair, sunglasses on, eyes closed, the sound of the ocean and children's laughter- the heat of the sun, the sand. ahhhhhh.

evenings were spent grilling out, dining out lavishly (delish seafood, desserts & pina coladas @ capt andersons!!), and of course, cool nights on the beach- wind in our hair, cool breeze, peace & quiet- except for the kid who found the buoy- and swore it was a turtle's egg...

a marvelous time was had by all, and of course, with jess & i- there were tons of laughs to be had- especially in our last night- spent in desparation for sleep. and something that made me laugh so hard it brought me to my knees- yet neither of us can remember it. we went to bed @ 1:30, had to wake up @ 4:30- someone said, "i want to go ahead & pack my bag in the car tonight, so i just put my deodorant on." i quickly shot down any hope of the 4 of us working together w\ our own maid service- although the condo was spotless when we left it (except for the blue padded toilet seat incident).

then of course it was back to work, for one of the most interesting weeks i've had in quite some time- with more good to balance out the bad. at least for now. i will divulge more on this later my friends- if you're lucky.
